Can somebody place a picture off the throttle modification. I have done the clutch one but I am not an LRO reader anymore. Smile Roel

Here you are.
You can see the line made with the spring, which gives you a centre line to drill on.
As it's a double thickness of metal you need a new 3.5mm drill bit.

Is the pedal mod really needed? I've never found it to be in the slightest bit heavy

Not if you are OK with it as it is! Some people say they find it tiring to hold down on long motorway trips and this makes it about 30% lighter (about the same as a 300tdi)

It can be put back to normal in about ten seconds if needed.

To be honest I think if it is motorway driving that is the problem i would install a cruise control system (either the LR simple DIY one or the plug and play units) and be certain of a right foot relaxing drive...

I made my own cruise control but might be interested in a lighter pedal if it is just drilling a small hole. Very Happy Roel

Can someone post the LRO write up or a picture or two on how to do the throttle pedal spring update, or point me to where I can find it online? Or PM me a copy of the article? Would love to lighten that pedal as I do a lot of highway driving. No access to a June LRO Big Cry

Just look at the picture l posted and the description on my previous post. It's all you need to know.

PS it was the June 2011 edition of LRO. I resurrected this thread from back then!

I would love it if somebody could point me in the direction of the "LR simple DIY" cruise control for the Defender TD5.

All l can find is a kit at over £400.
