hadenough, your contract is with the dealer not LR,or you could poss sue the leasing company for providing you with the funds to buy a vehicle not fit for the purpose it was bought for. 2.4 90 XS

It is good to have it back, but it is only a temp fix until LR engineeering can come up with a solution. I do feel a little better now they have sent me a letter stating that. I wonder how long it will take them?

On a different note I asked them to quote me on a new one as I was so sick of being without it. Do you know htat was twelve days ago but I still haven't got it. You would have thought they would want to sell cars in this claimate?????? They did tell me last night I was going to get it today so we will see!

If they don't give me a big discount I am going to tell them to poke it anyway.

Boy,

Good to hear that, specially that you have a piece of paper signed by LR stating that the car have a problem. That is the best part in my opinion (legally speaking). Unfortunately you must to give them some time to solve it, I suggest one month with some pressure in them (one call per week)

I hope that the repairs last more than the last one.

Regards. Eduardo

I proposed a compromise weeks ago at the dealers. I was so naffed off with it being almost always at the dealers I asked them to get a price for a new one just to get rid of the problem. They agreed and said they would arrange a special discount through land rover UK.

Today they have finally got back to me; they have made a really stupid offer that made me go up the wall!!! He then said the dealers were not making any money out of it (lying basket), because I told him it would be cheaper to go to court and he could stick it where the sun don’t shine. He then told me to contact land rover and tell them how I feel and they may give me some discount (so they never got any discount form them like they said they would). TBH all I want is my LR but working! I must have something that is not off the road 25% of the time. I am prepared to buy another one but I am not handing over lots more money.

This is like a living nightmare!!

Ring LR customer care and see what contribution they would consider, the dealer has an up front 13% margin to play with, er, good luck. 2.4 90 XS

TheBoy,

Just my opinion.

Stay focussed in the main problem: the car doesn't work and you need have one that work properly. Can be a new one or a repaired one (new motor) but must work 100% as designed. At this stage, trying to get a quotation with a discount of a new one only adds new variables to the problem.

Your car is still under guarantee and you have a letter of LR stating that they are working in get a solution. Wait for that, and when everything is solved (I hope so) go to the next move.

Just my toughts Eduardo

Sound advice Eduardo thank you and probably advisable. However in my defence I have been at this since the end of September 2007 and I am totaly exhursted with the whole thing. I want to give them more time but I am getting to the point that I don't believe a word they say.
