So after 18 months without any Land Rover ownership, I am kind of returning to the fold.
Just bought this late 1999 300tdi Auto Disco for £1200. Its going to be used as a trailer towing motor at our sailing club. Last few vehicles have been Mitsubishi Shoguns and I'm fed up mending them with all their complicated electronics and seizing brake calipers. Click image to enlarge Starts and drives as sweet as a nut. No smoke, no transmission noise, shifts through the auto box really smoothly, quiet transfer box, diff lock OK, etc. Bit rusty underneath but no serious holes or terminal rot. I have seen a lot worse. Some bubbling on a few of the body panels but it won't matter to us. It's had a 2" lift kit added which I might take off at some point, although it will help keep the body electrics a bit higher out of the water when launching boats. Only one key and a single 2 button fob, so 1st job before someone loses them will be to get another key cut and a second fob. www.remotekey.co.uk seems favourite as I don't have a Nanocom or Hawkeye to programme a new one myself. So indirectly, its good to be back Last edited by lohr500 on 2nd Sep 2020 9:12am. Edited 1 time in total |

Cheers discomog. It's so tidy I thought about buying it for myself as a cheap green laner, but then I realised I couldn't cope with the grief from swmbo.
