What ECU do I have? Cruise control?
I have a 1999 td5 and I was told that it had been fitted with a remapped ECU. I have the original ECU also.

My question is I am interested in fitting cruise control and I am aware that you can buy a kit for certain models years. I know that the kits do not work on 1999 models with the standard ECU.

What year ECU would a cruise control kit work with and how can I tell what year mine remapped one is?

Hope this makes sense Question

thanks in advance Thumbs Up

If your ecu has a part number of NNN------ then you can fit cruise, if you have MSB------ you cant.

Like Pete said, it will only work with the NNN type ECU. It will work on a older TD5 with the newer NNN type ECU fitted. There should be a sticker or two on it saying what the part number is. If you have a NNN type then drop me a line and i'll sort you out a kit if you need one.

Pete.

Recommend you post the part number of each ecu here or just post a picture of both stickers on the ECUs.
Pretty sure you will get a definitive answer after that.

This thread dates from 2011 !!
I believe the later TD5 only needs a wiring harness and two buttons, "set" and "resume"
There used to be a kit for about £140 but it has disappeared.
I'd fit it to mine but l'm not paying £450 for the kit with ECU which l am told you don't need.

I paid about 5 euro's for 2 push buttons. You can easily find a schemaic on the web. And as I changed my engine loom I had pleny off wire and plug connector parts. Roel

I am goin to swap my ecu to the newer nnn, add some pigtails to the black ecu plug and use the disco 2 controls for a nice clean finish.

There is a cheap terrafirma 150pound kit on some websites, but who can beat factory buttons...
