The drawing shows the LHD heater box, on RHD it's on the same side of the box, but the box is obviously on the other side 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

*Update*
Replaced the resistor today, fiddly job but it was okay. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem Interestingly the fans blow when A/C is on but no adjustment in the speed. When a\c is off no blow. Any suggestions on next port of call before I take it in ? Thanks, |

It is not unknown for the bulbs that illuminate the heater controls to melt the fan switch in the control panel, causing this sort of effect. Unfortunately the heater control panel is available only as an assembly and is shockingly expensive.
Generally if this has happened the slider won't slide smoothly. If yours does still move smoothly it probably isn't this problem. |

As the blower is working when A/C is switched on, there is only one thing that can cause the problem - the switch itself. Maybe the connector of the switch is not connected the right way?
