G4 Edition 90
After vowing not to buy another Defender (I’ll never sell the v8 though), I bought another Defender.

I was going to buy a sensible car, then the night before I asked Mrs Greeni if I should look for something else, so I put ‘td5 Defender’ into ebay and saw this 90, beyond my budget (as always) and at 1030pm I made a stupid offer..( i also put an offer on a c63 AMG Estate at the same time, but got a counter-offer I couldn’t stretch to).
The guy came straight back to me and said, he’ll think about and let me know in the morning, well, at noon the next day I was up in Lancashire collecting it.

Mostly original, it’s had a complete respray at some point (witnessed by Ginjez at the paintshop) with modifications of only the LED lights and a bluetooth DAB stereo.. all of which the originals were given to me by the owner and since been fitted back on the truck.

It’s a week old now, but already done 600 miles, including Mrs G using for a business trip up to Grizedale one day.

It’s utterly standard, still has the EGR valve and standard exhaust. I plan to put BFG’s on it and maybe Freestyle alloys.. but can’t decide. A 1.2 ratio transfer box will be added to, from Ashcroft.
There’s no leaks (in or out) and the chassis is honest and solid, with a bit of age showing on the rear crossmember.

What do you reckon of it?

I too, saw this on IG and it does look very nice. I also approve of the 'return to standard' approach. To my mind, a special edition looses it's specialness (is that a word?) if not in original spec. Darren
