500 I possible but not when towing 2ton. Managed to get 27.5mpg on a 375 mile trip to Scotland. No checked but return journey looks like it'll be pretty much exactly the same.

Mr. Green

And I though you were going to say like a girl.

Def went like a dream almost all the way there. Shortly after setting off there was like a barely perceivable clunk and everything was great. Smooth progressive gear changes no clattering, great smooth power delivery.

At 376 miles pulled over filled up and set off - back to crappy gear changes????

there's your problem you shouldn't have filled up!
Don't put any diesel in your Defender and I can guarantee you won't have any issues with clattering, dodgy gear changes or clunks Thumbs Up

Another pb today - I think.

Managed to squeeze 69 ltrs into standard tank today. (just checked and managed 70 ltrs before so no pd)

Unfortunately only 498.5 miles.

What do you guys aim for out of a tank? Generally always aim for 500 miles Mr. Green

If MPG is so important, why buy any 4 x 4 , get a prius.

Doing 50 mph on the motorway is going back to the dark ages, get a grip, its dangerous as well

Not really dangerous as a recent published average M25 speed was just over 24 miles per hour!!! Working towards Carry on camping!

To answer your question, I aim for about 2 months driving out of a tank. Whistle
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

I generally aim to use a tank of diesel by the time I need to refill the tank with diesel, that's about it.

Everyone is entitled to drive how they want, however i'm entitled to my opinion of the people below,

People who don't do 60 in a 60.
People who wont overtake
people who cruise to a halt for about a mile when approaching a roundabout
People who exit said roundabout in 4th gear and take an hour to get back to speed
people who drive at 50 in a 60 in good conditions
people who drive at 50 in a 40 then 50 in a 60
People who slow for corners that are acutally just bends
people who do 70 on crawler lanes then 50 on the normal carriageway.
people who pull out infront of me and cant find their accelerator
people who stop at roundabouts when theres nothing coming

ad infinitum

Smile 3 Landrovers
