Winterising
We're planning a cold trip over christmas and i'm after any tips/advice on what to do with the Landy.

Webasto or similar heater fitted
Snow cowl
Winter tyres

Is a rad muff worth it? Cheap and with low temps, will it help the truck run better?

How cold ?

If you are going to be -10c or colder, definitely breather heater, insulate your battery box underneath

Silicone spray your door rubbers
Don’t bother with a rad muff
Check coolant and power steering fluid
Gun oil in locks
Replace key fob batteries

Have s great trip

It's the alps through Switzeland, Austria and onto Germany so i'm not expecting massivly low temps.

Locks are paramount as the truck managed to lock itself this winter just gone with the keys in it Embarassed

Battery box i'll do as well as that's being re jiggled about

i'll search for the crankcase vent pipe heater

It's the simple stuff we tend to forget Laughing

I seem to remember my wiper blades clogging up constantly this year with the snow and ice driving around all day and someone mentioned full strength windscreen wash

Spare door key in a relatively secure place. Place key in sealed bag zip tied to chassis inside rear fog light etc. Somewhere it will not readily fall of/ disappear into an impossible crevice.

Have you needed the snow chains Mark?

I'm fitting Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT's to the truck and looked at snow chains as well, but cost for any decent ones are not far off the cost of the tyres due to their size!

Where did you get yours from Mark?

I found a jacket from Nakatanenga, however they wont deliver on an order under 49 euros ( but charge you 22 euros for delivery )

Blimey, do I have to teach grandma to suck eggs Rolling with laughter

Or should that be grandad?

OK, we at 4x4overlander do not have every Nakatanenga item on our shelves but we get regular deliveries from them so we can always add items on to the pallets coming from Germany. International courier costs are not exactly cheap which is why we try for pallets up to 2 metres high to reduce individual item carriage costs.
