Bulb swapped bu t it only works for main lights and not when I hit the brake. Is there only one way round to fit the bulbs? Not sure what's going on maybe electrical issue.

Check the 3way connector at the back of the light. It should have three pins, i have seen several before which have lost a pin which is stuck in the plug.
