Removing tow bracket
This might be a stupid question but does anyone have a drawing or know exactly how the standard tow bracket and all the fixings comes off? I want to get the whole thing including all the top angle bracket shot blasted, metal sprayed and powder coated. It looks like the majority of the bolts into the crossmember must have captive nuts as I can’t see any exit holes. I don’t want to start undoing bolts to find some aren’t captive and then have a half on half off useless tow bar!

Yep all the bolts that it goes into on a Tdci are captive on a Tdci. Soak them in something for a few days before you attempt it, if you snap one it can be a real swearing match Whistle On some drop plates you need a thinner wall socket to get the main bolts out as they’re close to the edges.

Three along the bottom.

Thanks, does that include the ones that go up from beneath, the ones that hold the angle iron on?
Sorry, just re-read your post and you already explained! Not sure why you would need a thinner socket all are in an accessible place as far as I can see!

If you have a Dixon bate style drop hitch the bolt head is very close to the uprights on the slider.
