Remember the 7 men from #Grimsby who came to #Macclesfield to ride their bikes?

They rode them across two SSSI sites and across private land and on public footpaths in the #peakdistict. They ignored the footpath and no vehicles signs, laughed as they caused damage and uploaded their activities to the internet!

Well earlier this week after an investigation by officers from The Rural Crime Team at Macclesfield, they were handed fines and community service.

Sgt Rob Simpson said "Our National parks and countryside are great places to enjoy your hobbies, as long as they're lawful. We only wish to discourage those that cause problems for the people who live, work and visit the area with good intentions. These convictions send a clear message that we will tackle this kind of antisocial behaviour"

The Rural Crime Team would like to thank Derbyshire Rural Crime Team, Humberside Police, Lincolnshire Police and Norfolk Police who all played a part in obtaining evidence.

We would also like to thank Natural England for providing evidence in relation to the impact of the damage on rare flora and fauna.

Only community service was their motorbikes not confiscated?

Young lads on motocross bikes are a bloody nuisance, the times I have been out walking the dogs and two or three bikes come roaring up the footpath I have lost count of. Also, young maniacs riding them who attempt wheelies on dual carriageways and weaving out between cars. Most of the riders I have seen riding pathways also do not wear crash helmets. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
