Starter compatibility,
Evening all,

My Beloved Lucindas Starter has finally clapped out (single click) (even hammer and Rod no longer work), Need a replacement fitted pronto, (got half a tonne of specialized CE marked Steel delivered to my companies compound Sunday evening)

Finding someone to do it tomorrow might be problematic, but i'm more concerned about them waiting for them to find a starter motor. (Don't have the experience/time to Do it myself anyway)

So having a look at suppliers near me i found... None... With exception to EuroReconditionedRipoffsfromChina (eurocarparts).

They can get Lucas, Bosch and FBL (who the hell are FBL? Google-Fu returns nothing) there for Saturday collection (albeit at a price).

But, they have an RTX one in stock, Ready for collection tomorrow, Now reading up on them they have a reputation of being dogeSh**.

Now i'd much rather do the job properly first time round but my questions are at follows:
Anyone Recommend a decent wrench Monkey in the romford/Brentwood Area?
Anyone know anywhere in the brentwood/romford area that may have a decent starter motor in stock for pickup or delivery tomorrow or Saturday?
Are RTX ones all that bad? Would i be better off not even bothering?
Had a look online for getting it fitted click mechanic quoted me £265.92 but gave no breakdown on what starter they intend on supplying, anyone used these before? any views?

Now evern more confusing having a look on ECP they have two seperate listings with two seperate specs with different flange sizes and lengths ect.

What spec starter do i need?

I can't help with the RTX one but in your position, I'd give somebody like LRParts a call and see if they can get you an OEM one by Saturday for about £150 (inc. VAT):
