Do yanks and canadians need a driving permit to drive in Europe? If they don't because they aren't in the EU, next year we won't be in the EU so if they insist on a drivers permit it shows how petty they are.
Speaking of being petting, the EU signed a free trade agreement this week saving EU businesses an estimated 1 billion in tarifs. Seems that they think trade with Japan is more important than trade with us.
Also a German MEP has said that Merkel is prepared to cut her own nose off to spite her face. She has said she will hardline on any agreement even if that causes financial hardship to Germany. Putting the 27 before home needs it seems 110 D250 SE HT

Still got my International driving license and bail bond from my trip to France and Spain in 1969. We could only take £25 in cash out of the UK too.
Happy days - and no real problems either.
Having said that the Government has had no successes with its computer systems of late - so no doubt chaos will ensue. Whistle

I've been to a few countries where an IDP is a "requirement", handed it over when stopped by police and they've given me a blank look as if to say "what's this silly looking piece of paper in a load of languages I don't understand".

I gave up in the end and just handed over the little plastic card and was never asked for the IDP.
