Can I use ...
Hallo all,

Can I use a Tdi diesel fuel filter to filter the hp side of petrol supply for a 3.9 efi V8 ?

Cheers

if memory serves me its down to 2 things .

micron filter numbers are different for petrol to diesel to remove impurities and debris etc.

diesel filters are meant to take water out of the fuel.some have drain plugs for this some don't.

i suspect the internals will be similar or certainly have been on ones we have cut open.

on some of the old army landies we have weighed the new filter full of fuel and the old filter and there is a difference as the used one is always heavier.

is there a reason why you want to use the wrong filter?

This kit comes with fittings, and is what's used on the Defender 50th 4.0L
Goes between tank engine on HP side; (normally on the chassis.

Thanks chaps 👍

I was just asking because it's there already but as it doesn't seem suitable I'll explore the other avenues suggested.
Many thanks
