This (not very good) photo is of the Romme/Colombiere plateau this morning. Looks miserable. If it rains, it'll be one hell of a stage....

Couldn't take a photo as I was driving to work, but in the half hour after I took the photo, completely clear above the plateau now. Weather reports are changing all the time. Now it's looking like 'some' rain may appear during 'La Course' , 1100ish, whilst another website has afternoon rain. However, afternoon rain in the Alps is more-often-than-not thunderstorms with heavy localised rain, not rain all afternoon as might be indicated in the UK if you do not have access to an hourly forecast. Annecy looks clear. Webcams look clear
This webcam points to the Colombiere, about the best real-time view you can get of the final Col: https://m.webcam-hd.com/grand-bornand/chinaillon And here's the Glieres, the gravel road section. http://m.webcam-hd.com/conseil-general-74/...es-glieres Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Just got to work and found out that I have the afternoon off. Guess where I am going?
Sadly, don't think I have the time to get to the Colombiere, but will certainly go to the Romme and walk up the hill a bit. Fingers crossed. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Enjoy!
I wish I had organised myself better and come over. I haven't been to the tour for a couple of years now. |

What a day!!!! In the last 20kms of a stage just over 100k long.
Lord only knows what today's stage will be like. Sadly, this will be the first Ad'H I will miss since I moved to France ten years ago. Gutted. All of you out there on the road and enjoying it, have fun. It's going to be epic. Go G, go Froomey. Awesome ride by G. Dumoulin looking strong but lonely. Will he have the support by Sunweb in the Pyrenees? It's G's to lose, so the question is can do a full three weeks? Hopefully, as he's not been dragged into the ground as a super-domestique, he can. But you can never write off Froomey. Mmmm, what will the tactics be by Sky? I'd love CF to win for the records, but I'd love GT to win just because this may be his only chance. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Nice to see two Brits at the top of the GC leader board. Good luck to Thomas but how much longer can he keep gaining time on Froomy plus at the end of the day he is a team player and will default to Chris Frome if Froomy has a chance of being on the top of the podium in Paris.

Too stressful to watch today even if I’d had the opportunity. Peeped through fingers at updates on the net.
Just needs a solid TT tomorrow and it’s coming home to Wales😎😎 So chuffed it’s G!!! |

Watched the last hour on my phone. Absolutely battered my data but it was worth it.
