That is too much money for that vehicle.

It appears to be a non-County Station Wagon, with benches in the back rather than 4 individual tip-up seats.

It has the black/white "caviar" County seats rather than Brushwood which makes me wonder if they were bought as an upgrade to standard seats. This was the practice in 1983 when Land Rover wanted to keep Brushwood exclusive to the factory Countys. I don't know if that had changed by 1985?

Countys had colour-coded wheel-arch eyebrows unlike this one.

There is no rear roof lining.

Also there are no fold-up side steps and no rear step.

The rear side windows look aftermarket to me.

I am wondering if this is an up-graded Hard Top (you have to careful with these things!)

Mr Land Rover Anorak, what do you think?

Edited: I've just seen Jeremy's post. Great minds think alike!

Laughing Thumbs Up

To be fair to Bonhams they don’t call it anything other than a utility, personally I think it’s £10k too much

Definitely a conversion. Quite nicely done apart from the lack of trim in the rear. Far too much money, though. Darren

I hope somebody didn't pay that kind of money thinking they had walked away with a genuine early V8 Station Wagon.

Surely they didn't think a C plate hard top with windows cut in the sides and some seats in the back was worth £18,000?

Anyway, I hope they are happy with their purchase.

Quite a bargain compared to the Spectre Puma further down the sold list Whistle

But if I had £2M spare, it would have had to be the blower Bentley for me.
