Td5 oil spec 10p engine.
5w/30 fully synth or 5w/30 semi synth ?
Currently on 5w/30 Fuchs Titan and have a few leaks.
Saw a mention about fully synth making seals go hard, so was wondering if semi is better? (and replace seals at the same time: Rocker & front cam seal) 1999 Defender TD5 110

Mannol 20 Litre 5w30 ZETEC Semi Synthetic

I run the above, right grade, recommended for TD5 by a few people, and £50 for a 20L drum.

Still have a bit of an oil leak, but it's always done that...

I have run Smith and Allen 5w30 fully synthetic oil for the last 4 years and it seems fine. No new leaks, just the usual land rover/td5 leaks

I run 5w30 fully synthetic, the rocker cover half moon and front cam seals are prone to leaking whatever oil you have in!

When replacing them I use a small smear of RTV silicone and not had a problem since.

Cheers
