Im about to overhaul my front swivel housings and suspect I will need to add new housings to the parts list.
looking at the prices for genuine against Bearmach and Brit part offerings which is a considerable difference need some advice as to which path to take. Any bad experiences with the cheaper housings? i have fitted bearmach swivel houses in the past to 3 vehicles, longest was 6 years ago, they are still going strong. Cheers

I rebuilt my swivels two years ago now and used the Britpart Teflon covered ones and they are still performing perfectly. The finish is all in tact and no issues to report at all.

Same here with the Britpart ones.... no issues 18 months later (knock on wood)

If you go aftermarket buy the ones that say āmade in Indiaā on the box. Doesnāt matter if itās Britpart, Bearmach or all makes they seem to change suppliers - must just be whoever has the best deal on the order. Iāve found the Indian remakes are better finished and a better fit.

I replaced the left front with a britpart kit and it has been very good so far. If ordering from Paddocks......bear in mind there are two kits..one with aftermarket bearings and seals and another for relatively little extra momey for one that uses OEM or Land Rover seals and bearings. Obviously get the latter. I was not aware and bought the inferior one, then spent a quite a bit more for the OEM bearings and seals from the dealer..... When i do the right hand side, ill order the proper kit. ( whomever installed the right side last time, snapped the lower bolt that holds the steering stop and decided to weld it all together rather than drilling out the bolt remains......looking forward to that repair..š Patrick |

Can confirm the Britpart swivel housings I received and installed 2 years ago are still working like a champ.
It's one of the castings that they seem to do well with. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

Already got all the bearings, seals etc already (Timkin & LR genuine) was away for MOT yesterday and had a quick check of the housings whilst it was elevated and notice some pitting so decided to do the lot together.
