Assuming of course you have a LOT of data allowance in your contract.

Depends what you mean by ‘a lot’ . . .

My contract gives me 12Gb of data per month. I live in France and I use the radio on my phone almost every day. I’ve never got anywhere near the 12Gb.

If you Google it you’ll find the following . .

“Normal-quality music streaming uses 1.20MB per minute or 72MB per hour on average.” Talk / Voice radio might be less. On this basis my 12Gb monthly allowance gives me 167 hours of radio per month or 5.5 hours per day.

At the moment Vodafone is offering 18Gb per month for £19. And that’s 50% more than I’m buying so would give you over 8 hours per day.

One final point, make sure that your phone and any radio you buy supports A2DP Bluetooth. (If they’re less than 2 or 3 years old, they should be fine. If not, Just buy a radio with an auxiliary input on the front (same size plug as most phone headphones) and you can get a lead to go from the phone to the radio for about £2. Does the same thing.

Hope this helps . . . But if £19 per month is more than you’re willing to pay, I’m sure there are cheaper deals out there as well.

Good Luck.

Thanks Pete Thumbs Up
Although I have a DAB head unit and an aerial splitter the quality was a bit sporadic at times. I tried the BBC radio app over bluetooth and it is brilliant.. Very Happy 1993 200Tdi Defender 90
