Disco5 set for some revisions to the outside
Seems like there might be some people who don’t like the D5........... Whistle
Maybe a facelift but I think removing some of the “luxury” and adding some “utility’” might also help, but them it will trample on New Defender sales...........

So to “remove the influence of previous Discoveries“ what can we expect ? Maybe a rag top............ or a pick up Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Well he seemed happy enough with his efforts when it was 1st released :

II wonder if he is starting to have doubts about new Defender as well?

Yeah all that Discovery DNA holding him back.

Maybe it'll get a ladder chassis with live axles? Rolling with laughter LR Workshop

Split tail gate and centre the rear number plate, not rocket science.

That won’t happen though. Expect it to look even more like an Evoque.....remember JLR are broke.

I still cannot believe that the offset number plate ever got any further than the drawing board. Defender 90XS SW

It could certainly do with more verticality, and maybe an exterior lunchbox on the C pillar too. I feel that there should be more emphasis on reductive design as well.

Let me see if I understand this then; for the Disco 5 ancestral DNA is a bad thing. For the Nude Offender ancestral DNA is a good thing, because that is what the marketing luvvies are using to sell (or fail to sell) the vehicle. How confusing!

Dare I ask who it was who was "too much influenced by the visual DNA of previous Discoverys"? Could it be a certain flamboyant professor?

Discovery 5 sales will bomb in the US as of Monday when the Ford Bronco will get it’s first showing.

The market has changed, off road life style is where it is at and Land Rover ironically only talk the talk, they gave up walking the walk years ago.

Of the reviews I have seen re the Bronco not one presenter (on You Tube) ever class Land Rover as competition in the Ford / Jeep / Toyota battle for that outdoorsy life style market.....

He even manages to blame old Land Rover models for his current design failings. Amazing. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Amazing lack of ownership, accountability and leadership from the man. I say amazing, I mean wholly inevitable.

I think they will defo centre the number plate if they had done that alone at the start the disco 5 would have got a lot better press.

The rear needs changing totally in my view they need to get back to a slab back for it but i guess that won't happen in this mid cycle revision as its a structural change. The disco 6 should have a drop tailgate. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

To me apart from the Obvious number plate, the wheels always look too small as its over bodied.

The Best D5 I have seen is thus Urban version that gets serviced where I take my Defender.

Center plate, all black, larger wheels,

I'm no expert on disco 5s but I assume the red vehicle in the photo is one. If so, what stepped roof is he talking about?

Don't forget that now the Defender is the Discovery, the Discovery is the Freelander. So that might explain why they want a clean break from the older models. 2011 110 USW
