I’ve seen on the Puma before people doing and changing all sorts of cooling system parts only to find the fault is CHT sensor they just must assume it’s a coolant temperature sensor and not even look at terminology or theory of operation. Penny smart - pound stupid Neutral

That's probably true, someone used to old carburettered petrol engines would probably just assume it only operates the dash temperature gauge. To test those it was just a case of shorting the wire to ground and seeing if the gauge when to hot, if it did you needed a new sensor. Not quite that easy anymore! Laughing

Glow plug and smokey start like yours, they’d thrown all sorts of sensors, relays and parts at it, visual inspection and a wiring diagram would have been a decent idea in my eyes Whistle

That wasn't supposed to look like that then? Laughing

Tired or depleted batteries are a good one too. The computer/computers get starved of power when you crank it so all sorts of random codes get stored in the fault memory. So people start changing all sorts, because the ECU says so. It's good to start with the basics.
