So effectively LR charging almost £200 for a kit, so £200 for a bolt, washer and seal, split, nut etc etc. Shocked

Do I read that right? Shocked

If you but all the parts separate there is about a £160 saving then.
I assume the flange on its own is the same genuine round one?

If so, then they must be taking the mick! Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

And Guy Salmon 4 years ago charged me £260 + fitted etc. Rolling Eyes

Thank-you. Very useful as I may need that very shortly myself so may help out the OP and myself.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
*EDIT* I notice that eBay listing mentions 86 - 06 Defender.
I presume it still fits the early Puma as mine is the 2.4 07 > Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

seal part number
Can anyone confirm the part number for the seal?

The only reason I ask is I can remember getting the wrong seal for my 2007 110 and I've got a new FTC5258G with 'not Puma' scrawled on the box in black marker pen in my box of spare seals and gaskets....

Or is it the P38 diff seal FTC4851?

Cheers Keith

For info I had persistent trouble with my front diff leaking (same flange arrangement), and in the end found that the three aftermarket flanges I tried, which all leaked immediately after installation, were all out-of-round by several thousandths of an inch. In the end I bought a genuine flange, which when miked up was round.

I am not saying that all aftermarket flanges are useless, but the three I tried, ostensibly from different suppliers and none of the Britpart, were all dud.
