Transfer Box Cable Movement
Not been on here for aaaaaages :p! Hello!

Well over a year of Mercedes powered Defendering down (recently ran out of MOT without realising, never thought it'd been 12 months!).

Anywho, does anybody know how much cable movement is required on the Transfer box for High/Low, and the CDL movement?

Still need to sus out a 'sensible' costing route of doing this,. I did have the Disco II H/L & CDL set-up, but I couldn't get it to sit nice in the cab, so thinking other ideas.

I know there's a air set-up from the Cummins lads, but not sure I have the room above the TB now it's shoved right back.

All thought's and ingenious idead appreciated.

Not sure on cables, but could you use solenoids to operate the hi/low? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Yes there are possibilities, but again, it'll be a bit experimental.

Not sure how much clout it'd need and again, how much movement.

Maybe I'll have to dig out the spare LT230, or get another known good one, just to mess around with. I suppose some of these cheap Chinese solenoids aren't too dear.

Even though good ones have been used before, but reliability is questionable with the force and the 'environment' they sit in ha!
