2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 ST Santorini Black
Steve Battye aka Bats767 forum member sadly passed away
If fellow members could read this and if they feel they can donate then please do. The Just Giving page is in Steve's name for the British Heart Foundation.
Whilst Steve wasn't a massive poster he did attend all the local events with one of his loving daughters, Emily.
Steve was a very close friend of another forum member and I asked him if I could set this up in Steve's memory. He may wish to remain anonymous but he sent me this obituary as shown below.

Steve Battye

Wife: Jeanette
Daughters: Tara, Katie and Emily
Granddaughter: Bella

Died on Monday 23rd April.

Being ex forces he kept himself fit and over 10 years ago had a heart valve replacement after noticing he had reduced physical stamina when exercising. He was awaiting the operation again after the replacement valve started to fail when he fell ill with an infection. The infection was in his heart and he was moved to the regional cardiology centre in Leeds but the infection had taken hold and he couldn't win this battle.

A keen snowboarder, he had lost his best friend (and godfather to his eldest daughter) to a snowboarding accident only 6 weeks prior to falling ill and had further pain when another friend of over 30 years passed away within 3 weeks of his best friend.

Steve also loved his Land-Rovers (he has a 1996 110 fully equipped for camping and a Disco 4 commercial for work), his family, the outdoors, camping with the Oztent and ensuring every gadget was purchased, in its place and ready to go.

Very sadly missed, a true friend, caring, thoughtful, funny, generous and a giant of a man as well as a great dad, granddad and husband.

RIP

The 'Just giving' page is 'Steve Battye' and all money raised will go to BHF. Please support in memory of a great guy.

Maybe next year's Christmas charity auction should be for BHF in Steve's memory
Remind me nearer the time Jeremy, please.

Oy Sullisulli
It is the human/caring/empathetic arm of the business that came up with that suggestion.

Oooops Sulisuli you just might get a slap from Barbara!

Please remember I am the grumpy old git who is still working on his Yorkshire citizenship!

Now we tend to do the charity auction in December, so will someone just remind us closer to the time.

Brendan
