Discovery 1 conlog immobiliser issue

Hi a good friend of ours has got a problem with their conlog immobiliser,it’s not working if we plug the fob in to the armrest socket it will start but the hazards flash and the immobiliser beeps and the central locking locks and unlocks in a couple of minute intervals,I’ve tried helping as the car has been unused for a week or so now due to them being afraid of being stranded,the red light on the fob is very intermittent but they’ve had the battery’s tested at the local motor factors and they’ve said their fine,any advice will be gratefully received,whether it’s disconnecting the unit or getting it working again,many thanks Paul
