Thanks Richard, possibly a little bright for my liking.

"There's a tatty old radio fitted but I don't have the fascia. It drives a single speaker mounted behind the driver seat but this is a noisy vehicle. You'd never hear a radio."

I do like his honesty! James

Well we had our Pub Meet at Sturmer on the 16th May and I didn't see any of you promised guys there!

I think we had 22 including 3 wives/partners so maybe you were lost in the crowd. Whistle

Most come to have a meal which is good grub and very popular.

There were several SII/A Land Rovers for you to pore over and ask questions.

Have you posted on the SII Club forum yet James? If you do, will you use the same monniker as on here?

If you come to the next meet (always 3rd Wednesday of the month) I'll bring this rattly old 2.25 diesel and let you drive it.

I'm doing you a favour as it is now a truck cab and so noisy it will put you off leafers for life, and therefore save you money! Laughing

Slidey, I did intend to join you but work did not permit. I must try to make the next one! S2C membership all signed up today actually, so will post there shortly.

I'm still keeping a quiet eye out for a bargain/good investment but still wonder whether to convert my 110tdi to a soft top just for something a little different. Still not sure the financial controller will allow a 3rd LR Big Cry We'll see what happens!

Still waiting to hear who bought the S1 V8?? James

So what do you think about a 1963 series 2a, with galv bulkhead, good orginal chassis and 3.5 V8, converted to Range Rover axles 20 years ago, recently renovated. "4 new shocks, changed the V8 engine to a later injection but back on carbs, New clutch series gearbox with Milner adaptor, rewired front end, galv bumper and new grill later door hinges and mirrors canvas and sticks all good".

Certainly not one for the rivet counters, but up for reasonable money. What do you think?

For me it would be better if it was a good V8 conversion still on S2A axles as that was a popular conversion years ago. Fitting RR axles with the skinny extended wheel arches isnt a good look IMO. Or I would go for an early Ninety with a V8. Just my opinion, however if you like it and it floats your boat then go for it, we all like different things Thumbs Up

Hi James

This is all about personal choice and if it works for you......

I tend to think it is better not to compromise, something closer to standard would be better. But what do I know, I liked that yellow 90 and was tempted to buy it and then drop in a V8. It sold for just £2700 Big Cry 2010 XS USW
