In the photo below of the new Anniversary V8 you will notice a small black plastic attachment on the headlining, just above the window fastening for the sliding windows, just beside the top of the driver's seat. What is it, what is it for? I have one and have no idea. I'm thinking alarm sensor? Could be, as often am, wrong

Ultra Sonic Sensor - part of the alarm. My 50th has one (two!) so they have been around a while

It’s the biometric bald spot scanner.

Good to see they are genuine parts. Gives me more confidence that these trucks are theft proof. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw Last edited by ericvv on 18th Apr 2018 3:43pm. A sign that the £150k anniversary still uses the alarm, immobiliser and central locking system from a 1990s Discovery renowned for lack of security and ease of theft 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

Except, as mentioned elsewhere, the immobiliser due to compatibility issues with the engine. Darren

I think the more recent keyless systems are looking more of a liability though... |

Mine too Ray.
I put a piece of insulation tape over mine. My bald spot, not the sensor |
