The chassis on my low mileage Defender was like new so decided now was the best time to have it treated. I took it to Dave and Frankie at Pro-Tect who have undertaken a fantastic job and have literally coated everything under the car but also taken the time to mask original factory stickers.
I’ll let the photos do the talking but would thoroughly recommend these guys to treat your pride and joys. Their attention to detail is fantastic. Hopefully I’m not breaking any forum rules by posting this praise. I have no relation to Pro-Tect but wanted to share in case any local is considering having their Defender treated. Looks good - how much does it cost?

They charged £800 which I think is good value considering it took 3 days of washing, stripping and then treating

£800 seems a lot to me. I paid £500 myself for my 110

It looks a very complete and thorough job. I did mine myself but did not strip-down to that extent. Whenever I do a job underneath, I always top-up... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

It didn't strike me as a lot of money for the amount of time it took and how thorough they were. I drove 70 miles north of me to Wolverhampton on Sunday and there it's only £2.50 for a hand car wash versus £8 down here, it's all relative. |

Alex I took mine to a Dinitrol approved centre called Torque GT in Devon and they did a job as neatly as yours and I paid £792.00 in April last year. Like you I think it was worth paying for a first class job. I don’t have the time or inclination to want to do it myself.
I was very happy with the work They did on mine Click image to enlarge 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

Looks great too. Like you I really couldn’t be bothered to attempt spraying the car with rattle cans when someone with the appropriate equipment and ramps can do a proper job. It seems a lot of outfits offering this serivice don’t lift the car up and don’t remove components which strike me as half a job

don't CSK do this for £550 with their most thorough package? Which also takes 3 days and includes rust treatment!
For a like new chassis £800 does seem a bit rich to me. Looks like they've done an absolutely fantastic job though, if they would price match with CSK I would certainly consider going with them |

My Defender was done by the previous owner at CSK, who did their “full Dinitrol package” when the guys at Torque Gt inspected mine they were very unimpressed by the previous workmanship done just over a year previously.
The photographs they took showed areas which should have been treated under a “full Dinitrol package” that hadn’t even been touch. Click image to enlarge I guess the moral of this story is, you pay cheap you pay twice. 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

I might be wrong but isn't the rear light panel completely aluminium... and normally fitted with a plastic cover?
I would have thought dinitrol treatment in that area would be completely useless? I am a complete novice when it comes to this kind of thing though |

This picture was just one example. I am just using it to explain the difference between a £550 Dinitrol and a £800 Dinitrol.
I like Alex L have the peace of mind of knowing our chassis have been totally and fully treated “Everywhere” possible by stripping components off pre treatment and to do this takes time and time is money. Had I lived closer my first choice would have been site sponsor Zagato who is held in the highest regard for his excellent workmanship with regard to corrosion prevention but it’s a long way from Cornwall. 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

I am due to get my 110 2014 Dinitrol’d in next couple of weeks - costing approx £900 all in. Bloody expensive but want to look after the beast and keep her in top condition for years to come.

I made the trip from Cambridge to Zagato, and I’m very happy I did. Chris was considerably cheaper than the prices mentioned on this page, so save some money and go for the best. Chris relies on his reputation, so I feel confident than he’s done the best job possible to protect my Defender. Now gone - 2012 2.2 110 DC XS
