DCPU Owners, am I high?
Just a quick one for DC owners, or indeed other incredibly knowledgeable sorts, but is my gap between wheel and arch higher than normal? Looks high to me. No 110 DCPUs to compare against, mostly SWs which obviously have more weight in the back.

Photo below, remembering that I have 18" Bowlers shod with BFG ATs 256/75. Just curious, as I will eventually get the Alive Eibach springs which will lower it and wonder by how much. Thumbs Up

does look a little high. I used to have a 110 csw that used to sit the same as yours. I was convinved that it was down to the bodge self leveller not working. it turned out that someone had put HD springs on the rear for towing

Given the size of my wheels it has always looked high to me. Wonder how I know if they're HD springs? Not that it matters as I'll be replacing them. Tell you what though, handles like an absolute dream. Best 110 I have ever driven. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

AFAIK DCPUs have HD springs as standard to allow a 1-tonne payload, that being said yours does look a little high.

Mine is more or less level, but has done 220k+ miles with at least .5t in the back, but I think when I bought it (and possibly even now if I empty it) the floor of the tub is roughly level with the top of a 255/85x16 KM2, so perhaps not too different to yours.

That's a rusty old drive flange in the middle of that posh wheel!

What's an AFAIK DCPU?

"That's a rusty old drive flange in the middle of that posh wheel!" Embarassed

Yup. Will be tackled with some POR15 (as recommended here) when the snow/rain has definitely stopped. Black bolts as well. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

Thought it looked high but looking at this pic of the mrs dc it's not far off.

I believe this will explain the rates, as marked on the springs:

AFAIK = As Far As I Know.

If you go onto topix and look up your build sheet from the VIN, it should state whether HD springs were fitted.
Failing that you'll have to get under there with a torch and try to find the colour codings.

Why do LHD 110's have different springs to RHD ones? Question Confused

Weight dependant because there’s always a driver but not always a passenger

Sorry, as ZSD has correctly explained, that was me being too idle to type "As far as I know" on a proxy 'phone "keypad".

That would make sense, except the same applies to RHD vehicles, but they use the same front spring on both sides. Whereas the LHD ones are handed.

Maybe also to do with engine position / off centre parts, battery ya de ya such that sitting flat with 2 LDH springs it would be off centre, so this levels it out. TY&GN

That's true, I suppose the battery for example ends up under the drivers seat rather than being swapped to the passenger side on LHD vehicles.
