window winder has come off with the part its attached to

Hi,

I haven't had a chance to really investigate but looking for help. My 89 landy passenger window winder has come off with the rod - what held it in? I don't want to take everything apart on the other door to figure it out as the door cards are a nightmare to get on and off -
