Pretty sure the boxes are the same for the 300 and 200 tdi, although the actual heater matrix did change at some point - just the way the pipes ran. On the 300tdi the pipes come straight off the matrix, on other models - maybe the 200 or the TD5 - they came straight off, and then dropped downwards. I'm guessing this was to allow better pipe runs to the engine?
I've never had anything newer than a 300tdi, so hopefully someone else will chip in. As said only difference is the top section to accommodate feed/return pipes went down upto last few 200tdi then straight

The later ones (Not sure if it was start of td5 or 02' facelift) changed to a different electrical connector. Easy to rectify anyway, especially if you have one from your vehicle already.
