I used the Search function and found some good general info on members' POV on various intercoolers, but none as a comparison. As such, has anyone seen/fitted/tested more than one make?

The obvious ones I am interested in, (perhaps) in order, are as follows:

Alive
BAS
Allisport/IRB
Twisted

I cannot decide which one. Heard good things about Alive and BAS, mixed views (quality) on the Allisport, and the Twisted (as with everything Twisted) seems to be £150+ more expensive than the others for no apparent reason. That's the cost of some silicon hoses.

Any thoughts? Thumbs Up

i can't compare but i've had an allisport full width intercooler in my 300tdi for 5 years now. it increased power by about 20-25% and increased MPG by about 10-12% very happy with it. 110 Defender 300tdi & Penman trailer with ally exped top and roof tent

BAS Hiflow for me. Faultless so far and the power feels great. Loved the research he did in the development stages.

As I will be having the BAS remap done here in France, I have chosen to go with the BAS. As some have pointed out, I particularly like the fact Pete did so much research tied in with the remaps etc. Seems like a logical 'combo'. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

I have a stage 1 ECU remap courtesy of Bowler and wanted to know if upgrading the intercooler will make a noticeable difference. My guess is that it will probably only add 15-20 extra BHP so no sure if it is worth it...Any feedback would be much appreciated!

In my experience, not much noticeable difference. But as I was running Pete's (BAS) 170 tune already with the standard IC I felt the relevant parts of the engine would appreciate the lower temps in the long run... Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
