Passenger outside door handle post 2002
Hi

My door handle has snapped away from the door and I'm wondering what I need to replace it and is it straight forward?

Not a great pic but you get the idea , I've glued it in the past but that's given up now.

You need a new door handle and yes, it is straightforward. The door handles are all the same, or at least interchangeable, and are secured to the door from inside with two bolts into brass inserts in the plastic. You'll obviously need to remove the door card and moisture barrier to get at them. The biggest problem is usually that the bolts seize in the brass and pull the insert out of the plastic but as your handle is scrap anyway, it won't matter. Darren

I changed to lift up doorhandles. They don't get damaged that easy.

Cheers I've ordered one from eBay for £10 it's not post 2002 but I don't believe there is any difference apart from the locking barrel diameter it takes and my passenger side doesn't have a lock on it.

Do you just pull/knock the right angle pin out or is there an easier way?

You need to prise the little clip off of the shaft with a small screwdriver, or similar. It's fiddly, but easier to put back on again. Darren

I ordered a second row door handle as it has no lock barrel, and is considerably cheaper than the correct item. The only thing i had to do was to swap the mechanism over from my own door handle

was pointing the wrong way
