I’ve got the mantec too. Although technically fine it has been developing those red brown spots rather quickly.
On this forum a lot of members fancy the Nakatanenga one. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover |

I've been looking myself and came up with a few options, The Nakatanenga one looks popular https://www.nakatanenga.de/en/optional-equ...w/ht?c=325 Pricey at £550 delivered direct from Nakatanenga Ebay has an original kit https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/272886467878?chn=...amp;crdt=0 much cheaper at £169.99 although you will require a seperate kit to mount an alloy. Check year to make sure it fits yours. Paddocks do one for £134.53 http://www.paddockspares.com/pm132-rear-do...NgQAvD_BwE Have a look around and you'll find one, they all do the same job  |

Another option:-
Does anyone have any experience of the Masai swing away wheel carrier, I notice that it's galvanised prior to painting. Not sure about the heavy duty and extra heavy duty? Time is precious, waste it wisely... Defender 90 D200 |

Blacksheep, I have the Masai although my only experience of it is providing a bit of space for it in my garage. Nothing wrong with it, it’s just one of those jobs I haven’t yet got round to.
The difference between HD and extra HD is an additional brace across the frame. |

The Masai hinges look well engineered and each is factory fitted with grease nipples. If anyone’s interested, I shall shortly be listing my Masai for sale.

The Nakatanenga wheel carrier is stainless steel and only require 2 holes in rear cross member opening up from 8mm to 10mm. They make one of the widest ranges of wheel carriers.
Safari Equip do a single pivot wheel carrier, mild steel, requires some holes in rear cross member opening up to about 13mm. They also do 'standard' wheel carriers which require the body work drilling and have grease nipples at the pivot points. All their range of wheel carriers are mild steel and we can supply them in different finishes including powder coated, galvanised or galvanised and powder coated. Brendan |
