Chile 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Stornoway Grey
Change tyres
Hi there!

Today I went to change 2 tyres of the Defender due the wearing. I lost 2 tyres and I replace it around 1 year ago and the others have already 140,000 km on the clock.

I use BG Goodrich AT KO2 and ss the old ones was bought around 1 year ago now the tyres pattern design have changed. The vendor suggest me (according the tyre manufacturer) to change all of them.

As the others are barely new (still more than 5 mm thread) I reject to change all and I put the new ones in the front and the "old" ones in the back.

Do you see any issue in use 2 tyres (same manufacturer, same size) but with different thread pattern?

Cheers to all! Eduardo

Nope. I wouldn’t have a problem with this.

But did you change the front tyres diagonally to the back? a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

What's the difference in the actual rolling diameter between the old & new tyres?

How old are the old ones? the recommendation is to change them at 10 Years old, regardless of wear. Also at 5mm tread the tyre will be much less effective off road or when wet-braking. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2
