Which tyre for Bowler 16's?
Thinking of getting some Bowler 16's for the 110 but unsure which tyre to go for.
BFG AT seem the obvious choice but if so what size?

Any suggestions or if you have Bowler's, photos of your setups would be most appreciated.

That looks great. Are the extended arches necessary or just for looks?

Having done a little Rolling Eyes research into my new set of boots recently I would say the Cooper ST maxx has performed brilliantly and do have nice tarmac manners.

Don't get me wrong the BFG at KO2 is a grand tyre and very popular but for me wanting just that bit more ALL in the all terrain and still have good life and road manners than the Cooper ticked a lot of boxes. and for 4 in 235/85 they were ovr £100 cheaper.

Cheers, they are needed. The tyres are pretty wide as is + 30mm spacers makes for quite a wide track! They sit just inside the arches.

They are great on road, i had STPros before, the difference between the two is like night and day.

Lovely JOW - I'd like a set and see those wheels quoted as being 7.5" wide on several sites, but Bowler say they are 8" and would hope that they know best, so I'm guessing 265's would be the preferred option as it feels to me that 235's would be a bit small on a rim that width? Rob

Assuming you want to keep the suspension and bodywork standard you have about 3 options on an 8” rim

255/85R16 - taller and a little wider than standard. Improves ground clearance, little more tyre of the ground. Really only 2 options for tyre in this size. BFG MT or Toyo open country mt

265/75R16 - Same diameter as the standard size, so same ground clearance. Wider than standard so more tyre on the ground for improved looks and potentially better grip. Many tyre options.

285/75R16 - wider and taller (about the same height as 255/85) But could give problems with the body work at big articulation. Likely to be the heaviest tyre of the 3 options so the suspension will be working harder. Quite a few options on this size.

Bowler typically fit 265/75 in an AT pattern - this was also a size fitted from the factory at some point I believe. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2

Thanks for the comprehensive answer. I'm leaning towards 265/75 based on your info and JOW's photos.
