300tdi rebuild
Evening,

Funny how things go full circle. I was all set to replace the 300tdi engine in the pick up with a 3.5 or 3.9 v8 and then the head gasket went. So if went for repair....5 months ago. I know I shouldn’t have said I wasn’t in a hurry, but to be fair the chap has lots on and the odd health challenge so no drama.

The head was pressure tested and found cracked, two cylinders were scored, the conrod was bent, the injector pump and injector are knackered....on it goes. Oh and the rad fins are crumbling and flywheel has high spots. Apart from that it’s all fine Laughing

I’m kind of pregnant with it, so it’s all being done. Hopefully I’ll end up with my scruffy 300tdi pick up good for another 187k.....maybe!
