I like BFG’s, find they wear well, handle well etc.

Coopers are great and never let me down. On my second set (sold my old truck with them) 20k in plenty of wear.
Not had the new bfgs but had the old ones and rate the coopers way above in the wet especially for the price. However will look at the new bfg when I come to change but will take some fast talking to warrant spending the extra. |

Interesting so far.

I've long been a fan of General Grabber AT2's. I've had them on a variety of Land Rovers (Freelander, Discovery 2 and 110) and always been very pleased with their performance. Winter rated, too. Darren

There was only one time i had cooper tyre's and that was when they were trying to get into the UK market and got them at a very good price, as i can remember i had no problems with them and when it was time to get new boots i was going to get another set, but they had changed the tyre pattern and was not happy with the new pattern at the time, so i went back to BFG's.
The set of tyre's on millie are the new KO2's, always had 265/75/16 AT's, i have given these tyre's a good work out over the time they have been on, the only thing that i'm not happy with is that when the road is greasy, they tend to be a bit " twitchy " i do not like that at all  I never had any problems with the KO's at all and was totally safe in any weather conditions 
So my thoughts are that when i need a new set of tyre's, for the first time for a very long time, i will be looking to see what else is about  1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

I have the S/T Maxx and in all honesty will probably buy another set when I need new tyres.
They seem quiet on the road and have only let me down once off road (wet grass on slimy mud on a cross slope, even BFG Muds were struggling). They even did well on snow and ice the other week when we got some. Most importantly can I really justify the extra cost of the BFG's just because they are comonly perceived to be the best or the trendiest option etc. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. The trouble with this sort of questions is that if people are happy with a single product/brand they tend to stick to it. Tyres being a relatively long life product most people do not have a chance to do a side by side product test for themselves.
Having said that for 20+ years have run our Defenders on BFG tyres so you can guess where my vote went. We have found the BFG tyres to be long lasting and I normally retire them due to age rather then the tyres being worn out. Brendan |

It depends what you want to use the car for. I've got a set of new Grabber TR's on mine. The same as it came with from new. The original set had lasted 80'000miles, and while they still had lots of road legal life left in them they would have been useless on slippy stuff. I find them really grippy on most surfaces, they feel good on the tarmac with no obvious noise or drift. They're very sure footed in ice and snow. I've driven across wet grass fields with them dragging an Ifor Williams trailer and the traction control light didn't even blink. If you're planning on doing competitive off roading, or a lot of heavily rutted muddy tracks then they're probably not for you. The Continental's that Land Rover replaced them with as the standard tyre are also supposed to be very capable too. |

This is what makes it a 'Holy Grail' quest.
This poll is slightly for fun as after all The perfect tyre for me is running two sets but I'm not after that amount of hassle, Only in known occasions will I swap tyres to the Special tracks but they are rubbish on road. I'm the worst person to ask 'depends on where you drive'? I commute to work on tarmac, A few times a year I will be off the beaten track on virgin moorland providing event support. Some moorland tracks are pure rock so I'm doing some mini rock crawling and others are stony with a flatter gravel base. Once in a blue moon the road will have 2cms of snow on it lol I marshal with the local land rover club so I drive woodlands and open fields and rutted muddy tracks, and occasionally I'll end up in the middle of a football pitch in the pouring rain with a 3 ton catering trailer on the back as no other  can pull it out.

The wrangler was a great tyre but the compound is too soft and I cannot fiscally stand a new set every 25K. I'm more than able to deal with the short comings of an all terrain when things get very sticky so that's a compromise i'm willing to work with as MT tyre life is too short and the noise is too high. Soo aggressive all terrain is the type that i'm focusing on. I'll have a look at the Grabber AT2 as that could work. Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest |

Just replaced 14 year old TRs with Contis. Very happy with choice. IMHO people like knobbly looking tyres, but they are rarely necessary. |
