Surging at WOT
Has anyone had issues with surging at WOT (wide open throttle) which also causes the lights to dim on and off at the same time? This is on an 09 2.4. To me this is something pulling down the voltage, effectively shorting when under a this condition, the only thing I can think of is a failing fuel injector unit, as that’s the only electrical thing I can think of effected by fuel load/demand... anyone else seen this before or have any ideas? The vehicle drives normally otherwise, and is most notable in 3rd gear.

High pressure fuel pump?

Maybe try the simple fixes first like a new fuel filter as it could be getting starved of fuel.

It’s getting a service next week, including a fuel filter change. It would be nice if that’s all it was...
