I have the very same issue depending on how it's parked and where the rain is coming from. Im almost certain it's coming in through the strip between the windscreen and the bulkhead, im going to try sealer ( tiger seal) on it see how it goes.

I had the same problem. Changed the blocks with new gaskets as the looked bad. Didn’t solve a thing.
After I had the cracked windscreen replaced I got rid of the problem. 2 Months later I’ve got the same problem again. I keep thinking I’m a lucky man as the leak doesn’t drip on my but my wife’s shoes 😄 |

You really need a dry day, two people and a hosepipe. Work round the obvious culprits with the hose and see if you can find the entry point. Mine was still the door seals even though I replaced the both with new Landrover parts at £60 a side! The roof gutters at the front let the water run onto the front of the doors. The water hit the seals at the front edge kink and then ran in onto the check straps and onto the floor. Solution for me was to form a silicone diverter at the front of the gutters to divert the water away from the seals, and adjust the door fitting.

Actually, if it was a normal car it would be quite frustrating. Somehow I don't get annoyed by it with a Defender. I'll just wait for a couple of warm days in spring to take out the headliner and the dashboard for some sealing and noise isolation work.

This is mine too  it depends on angle, wind direction etc. - sometimes it's torrential and I get not a drop, other times it's your typical rain and the passenger is looking at me like 'Dude, GET THIS SORTED' as it's literally a constant stream. I think my 110 has a bladder accessory hidden in the roof lining that it loads up waiting for someone to put their laptop in the footwell? Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

I have half figured out why this happens.
Last night was sat in the passenger side during heavy rain and water was dripping off the top front edge of the door seal, running down the door, and into the footwell. I put my finger on the seal and it stopped the dripping because the water then made a little river down the inside front of the door and ran out at the bottom of the door, so not getting into the footwell. So it would appear to depend on whether by chance you get a drip or a river. Now l need to find out how the water is getting to the inside of the door seal at the top. |

Pull the door seal off at the top, apply a small bead of silicone along the top of the door frame and down the leading edge, just below the door stay, and push the seal back and leave overnight. It usually works, and stops them dropping off overtime

The door would have been fitted with sealant at the corners and at the areas where the door kinks. Worthwhile renewing it as suggested, but I would not recommend silicone. Use a non setting mastic instead. Silicone is a nightmare to remove when set.

I had another look today and the water is coming from inside the roof, so how would it be getting to the inside channel above the headliner?
The door seal is dry. The water is coming out between the headliner and the door aperture. The only thing l can think of is the rubber seals on the skylight windows on each side of the roof. |

Alpine windows. Seals are rather easy to change. Stopped some of my leaks.
