[Wanted] Heavy duty rear crossmember
Hi all,

I have just picked up another project a Defender 90 truck cab 200 Tdi
i am going to replace the rear crossmember but i am looking for a heavy duty one as i want to keep it as standard looking as i can, has anyone got any suggestions as who do decent one, look at Devons ones but they don't look any were near standard for me

I've got a standard 200 tdi crossmember for sale.

It came from a chassis swap I did, chassis was shot but it had had a replacement xmember to get it thru an mot before I bought it.

I scraped the chassis but kept the xmember.

Any good?

I had a very heavy duty one built up for me by Luca at CLH Trailers in Wales. C section style out of 5mm wall with another 6mm thick section welded behind the tow bar mounts. Only difference from the rear is there are fewer holes and less rust than standard. Can try and dig out some photos if you want. Ed

My opinion the best cross member made, no mud traps, made from 6mm steel. Easy to fit and great customer service.

That's what I want when mine needs one. But without the recovery loops to make it compatible with the NAS step.

I spoke to him at the end of 2016 and he was winding up production of the crossmembers. He had enough stuff left to do two, i bought one and i guess the other is long gone.

A real shame as they were superb and Clive was a great guy.

Cheers Harry.O, I rang RCP today very friendly, going to pop down and have a look they do they standard 2mm and a 3mm crossmember so Iam going down next week to have a look

I still have a machine shop but I stopped landrover stuff in 2016

I fitted nearly a thousand over twenty odd years so Ive done my bit!

There are some ideas still left but corrosion repair is not one of them

Hi all, i got one from RCP and it is a spot on, fits nice and snug, exellent quality , in 3mm as i asked for, i can't recommend them enough i will be using them from now on as all the others i looked at were not a very good build quality
