Cheap Armstrong Steering Dampers
Are the cheap (less than £20) Armstrong steering dampers the same as or equivalent to OEM? I need take my 80k mile old original off to do another job, so wondered if it was worth replacing it whilst I’m there, seeing as they are so cheap. There’s no problems with the one that’s on except it looks a bit scabby and the bushes are showing minor cracks. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

@ Bluest...

Where are you finding them for this price? (My OME one has finally started leaking so I think I'll just change it to a stock one)

cheers

Just to close this off, I finally got round to fitting the new Armstrong damper today. Physically, it is not 100% the same as the original that came off. There is a different taper to the end of the shock body. The supplied bushes and nuts are not identical either. Whether this indicates anything important about the quality of it, it's too early to say, but I just wanted to post that the aftermarket Armstrong dampers are not identical to a LR OEM ones. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
