Rebuild point system - what do you think ?
I am no expert but I don't think this Landrover/ Leyland truck would score many points on the rebuild scale. Some dealer will sell anything.

I know series are not known for flush fit panels/doors but look how bad the alignment is on the pic of the rear tailgate Rolling with laughter 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

To keep the original number plate it must have 8 points on the DVLA points system

Quote:

5 of these points must come from having the original or new and unmodified chassis, monocoque bodyshell or frame.

Chassis is a Defender chassis so not a new and unmodified chassis for a Series 2.

Even if it was a Series 2 chassis, (I am now stretching my knowledge) the engine mounts would have to be modified to take a 300 TDi engine

Now there are no photographs straight on from front or rear but it appears that the tyre tread extends outside the extended wheel arch which would be in contravention of section 63 of C & U regulations

Quote:

(2) Subject to paragraphs (3) and (5), every vehicle to which this regulation applies shall be equipped with wings or other similar fittings to catch, so far as practicable, mud or water thrown up by the rotation of its wheels or tracks.

Would I pay my hard earnt cash on that vehicle? Thud

I think it most likely needs an SVA

It also appears to be a good way of saving on tax and MOT costs. Build something out of a bag of parts then get a log book for a completely unrelated old vehicle like a Leyland truck and put those number plates on your new build. Job done. No tax and no MOT. ..... FFRR TDV8 sold

An "A"-suffix registration does not date from 1959 but from 1963.

I am sure that this particular "untilty" [sic] has graced this forum before....
