GKN overdrive from mem on my td5 brought it down to around 2300rpm.

Does that make a reasonable difference to fuel consumption? At a constant 80mph on cruise control mine does 25mpg. Does 80 at 2300 rpm vs my 2700 rpm have a large effect? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
