Axle HARMONIC dampers etc
Looking at discovery 1s and 2s land rover did a few things to help remove road noise, 1 thing discuss on here is spring isolator and another appears to be the rotoflex coupling on the rear diff but has anyone tried the harmonc dampers?

could this help those trying to remove road noise

They're not designed to remove road noise. They're supposed to counter vibrations in the drive train when running over rough surfaces and are part of a package designed to improve NVH.

It wouldn't do any harm to fit them to a Defender but can't imagine them making any significant difference as the vehicle structure is so different. Darren

On a disco where they have a fair amount more sound insulation, you would hear vibrations and odd droning noises that you can't hear in a Defender because they're drowned out by everything else. So fitting them on a Defender probably woudn't make any noticable difference unless you've gone to the trouble of building it properly and sound proofing and sealing it up properly.
