Pictures of Patagonia 2011
Well,

After the painful work of sort the photos, reduce the size and upload in the WEB (3 times), here I磎

The roadmap:

10,000 km from Santiago to Ushuaia and cameback...
Such a trip for us!

The 1st satge was reach the starting of the Carretera Austral in Puerto Montt). A 1,000 km boring trip using the highway, but we spend the stops visiting friends.

The real trip started with a ferry that Joint Hornopiren (near to Puerto Montt) with Caleta Gonzalo (at the north of Chait閚)

After arriving in Caleta Gonzalo we headed to the camping place in a private reserve.

But, there we understand why the camping was called "El Volc醤" (The Volcano)...
It is located around 8 km from the Chaiten Volcano, still active after it eruption in 2008.
This is the view from the Camping Shocked

But after this nice dusk we stay 2 days there

Roads were OK for the Defender, but the popup received a lot of punishement in this road. Some parts felling off and the electric system was shutdown. But the nice landscapes given us a reson to continue.

The 2nd day in Puerto Rio Tranquilo we heading to the coast through a new road opened at the Northern part of the south Ice fields. One of the most wonderful roads that I ever seen, plenty of waterfalls and glaciers everywhere
