The good news is Will is interested in the idea of doing something. Early discussions include doing a forum discount on purchase price. So no money goes to anyo e other than sp4x4 preventing any kind of fraud etc.

bad news....

you will have to wait as they are currently sold out on all doors and have just bought the tooling etc to fro. the old suppliers of the doors to begin making them in house. They are going to be a few months clearing their back order before they can do a group discount

I think that's good news, there are plenty of companies which would take the money and sit on it to aid their cashflow.

£300-400+ is allot for most people to put together quickly, especially at Christmas (I'm one of those people), so i'm personally fine with circa Feb.

Thanks very much for having a chat with him, am I okay to give them a call to discuss further? 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

it's no skin off my nose, however they are only a small busy business and are very very busy so they very rarely answer the phone as I've witnessed them being held on calls for ages. Best bet is probably a email and James will probably get back to you. 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

Good news folks! William has given us a healthy £40 discount off the doors before VAT Thumbs Up

Quote:
hi there

sorry for the late reply, we could do them for £290+ vat a kit and leadtime would be early january

So i'm assuming that the lead time from the date you place the order until it's delivered (P&P is included on orders over £100) is one month

Simon who recommended me to SP4x4 also said they can supply:

Lock gaskets, to butt between the lock and the bare door
Plastic surrounds for the outside of the door locks
Galvanized internal door handles
Zinc plated hinges
Door strikers spacers (shims)
Nut plates for securing the strikers to the Rover
Bolts for securing the strikers

So i've asked for the product codes as I will be buying these too since the hinges I installed this summer are pants, i'll post them up when William responds. 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

Kit,
Well done, better price than I paid for the conversion kit. SP have lots of items on their site to assist with the build up eg hinges, internal door handles etc.. They didn't do the striker plate shims. I got those from John Richards and other sundries I bought from YRM metal solutions. If anyone has any issues/ questions etc then please get in touch.A problem shared ... etc..
If I don't know the answer then I am sure others on this site will jump in and help you resolve them.
Well done again Kit,
Kind regards,
Simon Thumbs Up
