United Kingdom 2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Bronze Green
For bumpy farm tracks I tend to use low range because this changes the throttle mapping making it easier to make smooth progress. For example rather than high range and second, I'll use low range fourth or fifth. Not a problem on smooth tarmac because my foot does not get bounced on the pedal.

Malta 2012 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 CSW Santorini Black
Thanks for the feedback. I did not try low range. Unfortunately shorting the switch was not a working solution for me. The short wheel base of a 90 and the condition of the local roads tend to make a bumpy right foot. Unless its called parkinson’s. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
