Obscurity and security
I have things in my boot all in used sheep lick boxes with lids on. The boxes are red and the lids are yellow and consequently are somewhat visible through the gangster tinted rear window but they look like sheep food boxes and not particularly interesting. Would it be more obscure if I were to abandon the multiple bright boxes in favour of one larger box in black that whilst fairly obviously a box for things would be less easily identified through the gangster tint on the back window. My rear side windows are opaque being a van and the view into the back from the front is obscured fairly well by the seats and my predilection for putting coats over them to air off. Oh and it is all lifted out on a night because of paranoia.Thoughts please. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Must be easier to lift one large box in and out rather than your multiple sheep lick boxes. Defender 90XS SW

That's the primary motivation, I just don't want to attract more attention than necessary. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Go for the black obscurity. I don’t know what a sheep lick box looks like and probably most criminals don’t either. To a thief, it will be a box which might contain something he can score from. He’ll have a go at it if he perceives the level of risk is favourable. Therefore reduce your own risk and make your possessions less obvious.

edit...
That ikea blind thing is genius! Looks the business and fulfils a useful security function. Bow down

Mine has a driveway alarm sensor/detector thing inside so if anyone opens a door the receiver half in my house goes off.
It’s only any good while parked up but it has a range of about twenty metres.
This sort of thing, although mine is a different make. It’s powered by batteries and lasts for months.
