Thanks Kit Thumbs Up

Do you have an idea of the labour cost?

I’d guess that there would be some savings doing both at the same time but even at a labour rate of £50 per hour, I’m guessing the labour for a chassis / x member swap would be £5,000?

So parts and labour would take the work to circa £9-10,000?

It's really one of those how long is a piece of string items, the problem is, if a chassis needs replacing there's a good chance that it's going to be a tough job with broken/seized bolts and replacing/repairing other items while it's in bits.

The bare minimum would be a weeks work though i'd say, you'd probably get a discounted rate on the labor since it's a big job, i'd factor (depending where you are in the world and who you use) 60 hours (two guys) at £35 an hour - £2.1K.

The rear cross member is a part of the chassis, so you would do one or the other, it just so happens to be probably the worst designed part of it! 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

A new galvanised chassis from Richards is less than half that. Typically around £1500 for a 88in Series and a bit more for a 90.

My quote inlcuded items that needed replacing during the chassis change, the bare chassis price at the time was £2400inc VAT, I don't know who the manufacturer was though 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW
